He gets along with other dogs and he isn't aggressive with cats but wants to chase them so it's best no cats. Jacob is a sweet but very shy little boy who is still learning that people can be kind and safe. He hasn’t had much interaction with humans in his past, so the big world can feel overwhelming to him. Right now, Jacob is happiest in his comfort zone — and sudden changes, being leashed, or being taken out of his safe space can make him very nervous.

While he’s unsure about people, Jacob absolutely shines around other dogs. He gets along well with canine friends and enjoys their company, though he can be protective of his toys. His ideal home will have a patient, dog-savvy adopter who understands that trust takes time, and who’s willing to let Jacob go at his own pace.

Hello my name is Wink. At just 8 months old, I’m a big, handsome 70 pound pup with an even bigger heart, searching for a forever home to call my own. My journey hasn’t been easy—I was surrendered to a crowded, high-risk shelter in San Antonio, Texas, for reasons I’ll never understand. The noise, the stress, the uncertainty… it was overwhelming. My time there was running out, and I needed someone to see me—to believe I was worth saving.

Every day, I did my best to shine. I kept my kennel clean, wagged my tail nonstop, and greeted everyone with gentle affection, hoping they’d choose me. But no one did. Maybe it was my size, or my age, or my right eye. I have a condition called microphthalmia, which means my right eye is smaller and doesn’t see well—but it doesn’t slow me down or cause me pain, and the vet says it doesn’t need to be removed.

The shelter called me Skunk, but my foster dad saw something different—he named me Wink, and it fits me perfectly.

Just hours before I was set to be euthanized due to overcrowding, Project Hope Animal Rescue stepped in and saved my life. From there, I began a 1,200+ mile journey north, carried by kind-hearted volunteers who gave me a second chance.

Now, I’m ready to start my next chapter.

I’m a sweet, affectionate boy with the perfect balance of playful puppy energy and gentle companionship. I adore people and have a special way of leaning into you for pets—it’s like a full-body hug. I may be big, but I’m all soft on the inside and thrive on love, attention, and being part of the family.

I’m still young and eager to learn. I’m very treat-motivated and want to make my people happy, which makes training fun and rewarding. I’ve already learned how to shake and I’m getting the hang of “sit.” I walk well on a leash and am excited to keep learning with someone who will guide me with patience and positivity.

Rocky is a 4-5 month old, male, 35 pound male shepherd, labrador, rotweiller mix who came all the way from Texas to find his forever home!

He is a very sweet, loyal pup and is the kind of dog who will sit by your side, follow you everywhere, and become your best friend in no time. He loves people and is great with other dogs, he has not had much exposure with cats but I am sure with proper introductions he would do well with them too. He is also up to date on shots, is neutered, microchipped and crate trained!

Rocky is still young with lots of energy and is still learning some household rules like: not jumping onto the counters, stealing shoes, and making sure we’re only pottying outside; but he is a very quick learner and is eager to please! He’d love a home where he can play, explore, and get lots of attention. Whether it’s going for walks, playing outside in a fenced in yard, or just hanging out, he’s happiest when he’s with his people.

He does have an eye injury from when he was younger but that doesn't stop him! He was vetted and as long as it is not bothering him or causing issues, a few lubricating eye drops every once in a while and he is ready to go again!

Noelle is a sweet little wild child with lots of puppy energy who we believe to be about 1 year old and a shepherd mix!

Noelle is a highly intelligent, affectionate dog who truly loves to learn and engage. She has been working with a trainer 1-2x a week for the last month and has made incredible progress in a short amount of time. We’ve been focusing on building her confidence, helping her understand boundaries, and teaching her how to appropriately interact with people and other dogs — and she continues to improve!

She has had respectful interactions with kids and loves a couple of 10 month old twins she recently met. She shows appropriate awareness and boundaries around children.

Noelle would do best in an active home, ideally with a well-established dog who can help continue teaching her appropriate social behavior. She thrives with clear communication, consistency, and routine.

She is best suited for an experienced owner, particularly someone familiar with shepherd-type dogs and committed to ongoing (positive reinforcement based) training and structure. Aversive training methods would be detrimental to her mental health and negatively impact her progress.

Hi! My name is Seymour 🐾

I’m a 6-month-old Chihuahua mix, weighing about 13 lbs, and I’m a big fan of snuggles! I love being close to my people and enjoy spending time with my foster dog siblings. I also do well with children who are gentle with me. Cats? They confuse me a bit, but I don’t mind them at all.

I’m looking for a home with a safe, fully fenced yard where I can play and explore. I also require lots of hugs and kisses—and I insist on sleeping under the covers in your bed. I’ll happily use a crate when you’re not home (I’m told it’s for my safety), but when you are home, I want to be right by your side.

I love wearing cozy sweaters and fleece jackets and look pretty adorable in them, if I do say so myself.

You may notice that I’m missing of one of my back feet. I was either born this way or had an injury when I was very young—but it doesn’t slow me down one bit! Sometimes I walk or run on three legs, and other times I use all four. The vets say it’s callused and causes me no discomfort. I run, jump, and climb stairs just like any other pup.

Wylie is a 1 to 2 year old, 67-lb Great Pyrenees mix who has been doing wonderfully in foster care with structure, routine, and clear communication.

He has adjusted very well to a consistent daily routine and is proving to be a thoughtful, responsive young dog. Wylie has been introduced to a neutral female dog and does great with her — both dogs are polite, relaxed, and respectful of each other’s space.

He is currently working through slow, structured introductions with other foster dogs. These introductions are done gradually with obedience incorporated into every interaction, and Wylie has been very receptive and eager to learn.

Dog social skills:
• Outdoors, through fencing, Wylie is friendly and playful. He often invites interaction with play bows and happy vocalizations.

Instead, it’s consistent with territorial or barrier-related behavior that is likely learned over time rather than emotionally driven. This type of behavior is common and manageable with structure.

His foster mom who is a dog trainer has already begun addressing this with clear boundaries, structured obedience, and consistent commands like “leave it” and “quiet,” paired with fair corrections and strong positive reinforcement. Wylie responds quickly and learns fast.

Because of this, adopters should be aware that similar behaviors could surface during the typical three-month decompression period after adoption. With consistency, routine, and clear leadership, this behavior has proven very manageable.

Your 40-pound bundle of joy, wagging his way into your heart!

Hi there! I’m Skymir — a lively, 1.5-year-old male black Lab mix with a heart full of love and a tail that never quits. I weigh about 40 pounds and carry a perfect mix of sweetness, smarts, and silliness.

My story began in a southern shelter, where I ended up all alone as a puppy. It was a scary time, but a kind-hearted rescuer saw something special in me and gave me a second chance. Now I'm thriving in Michigan (near Coldwater!) and looking for my forever family to share all of life’s adventures.

Here’s what you’ll love about me:

* I’m playful, affectionate, and full of wiggles—especially when I see my foster siblings!
* Give me a good, hard bone and I’m in heaven.
*Squirrel-chasing? Yes, please!
* I’m a smart cookie who learns fast, especially when treats are involved.

While I can be a little shy at first, I warm up quickly with a gentle touch and kind words. I’m working on my manners (sometimes I get too excited and jump up), but with a little patience and consistency, I’m learning every day.

"A fenced-in yard" would be perfect for all my zoomies and sniffari adventures! I’d do great with another playful pup or an active family who wants a loyal companion. I'm happiest when I'm with my people or four-legged friends—I'm not a fan of being alone for too long.
