Bennie is a one year old German Shepherd mix, weighing about 42 pounds- neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, house trained, crate trained, great on car rides, knows sit, down, shake, and come.
Bennie is extremely sweet, and although he loves to play and run, he is also happy cuddling on the couch. He has the playful puppy energy but comes already trained. He would make a great hiking or biking partner and would prefer a home with a fenced yard where he can romp or play. Bennie gets along well with other dogs. He has not been around children or cats, but with his gentle disposition, he would probably do well with children 8 and older and a dog-suave cat. Bennie was found as a stray and was extremely shy. He has come a long way in confidence, but he will need a patient family who continue to socialize and expose Bennie to new things. Bennie's adoption fee is $300.00. Hi! My name is Seymour 🐾
I’m a 6-month-old Chihuahua mix, weighing about 13 lbs, and I’m a big fan of snuggles! I love being close to my people and enjoy spending time with my foster dog siblings. I also do well with children who are gentle with me. Cats? They confuse me a bit, but I don’t mind them at all. I’m looking for a home with a safe, fully fenced yard where I can play and explore. I also require lots of hugs and kisses—and I insist on sleeping under the covers in your bed. I’ll happily use a crate when you’re not home (I’m told it’s for my safety), but when you are home, I want to be right by your side. I love wearing cozy sweaters and fleece jackets and look pretty adorable in them, if I do say so myself. You may notice that I’m missing of one of my back feet. I was either born this way or had an injury when I was very young—but it doesn’t slow me down one bit! Sometimes I walk or run on three legs, and other times I use all four. The vets say it’s callused and causes me no discomfort. I run, jump, and climb stairs just like any other pup. If you’re searching for an energetic little snuggle bug, I might be your perfect match. Oh—and I almost forgot! I am fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. Could I be the one to complete your family? 💙 My adoption fee is $350.00. Please email us at [email protected] if you have questions about him. If you would like to apply for Seymour, click HERE. Hello meet Cyrus. He is a very outgoing and silly boy. He absolutely loves to play explore and he is eager to learn. He is highly intelligent, within just one week he was kennel trained and learned how to sit and shake. He is fully potty trained and loves having other dogs to play with. He is very food driven which makes training even easier. He is amazing on a leash and loves his daily walks. He loves outdoor adventures whether it’s hiking running or a beach day! He loves to swim. He also just simply likes going on car rides and being included. A fenced in yard is needed for him to run and play. After a long day he loves to get belly and neck scratches and snuggle up in bed.
Cyrus was rescued from Texas and at just ten pounds he had a broken femur and ribs. He made a miraculous recovery and you can hardly tell he was ever hurt. It does not stop him from running and jumping! He is still learning his manners and we are working on jumping as he doesn’t realize just how big he is yet! As a Shepherd he needs someone willing to commit the time and energy into him and he will give you back endless love and loyalty! He is truly the perfect companion. He is also great with children. He loves to play ball and is ready for a home that can give him the time and energy needed for his activity level. Cyrus is about 10 months old and weighs around 90 pounds. He is neutered, has a microchip and all of his vaccines! His adoption fee is $350.00. Please email us at [email protected] if you have questions about him or visit our website at www.projecthoperescue.org. If you would like to apply for him, click HERE. Hudsyn is a 40 lb, 2-year-old dog located in Grand Rapids who adapts quickly to new environments and is eager to learn. She is currently working on potty training, basic commands such as sit, and learning not to jump. She has begun crate training and will need an adopter who is committed to continuing her training and providing consistency and structure.
Hudsyn would do well in a home with children, but adopters should be aware that she does jump and can be mouthy, using playful nips when she’s excited. Ongoing training and supervision will help her continue to improve her manners. She would love a home with another dog, as she enjoys playing and having a canine companion. Hydson does shed and will require regular grooming and brushing to prevent matting. A meet and greet in Grand Rapids and a site visit are required before the adoption is finalized. Hudsyn is a sweet, playful dog with lots of potential and would thrive in a home ready to guide her with patience, positive reinforcement, and love. I’m fully-vetted, spayed & microchipped and ready to join your family with an adoption fee of $300. Questions? Shoot an email to [email protected]. Ready to make me a part of your family? Wylie is an 11-month-old, 67-lb Great Pyrenees mix who has been doing wonderfully in foster care with structure, routine, and clear communication.
He has adjusted very well to a consistent daily routine and is proving to be a thoughtful, responsive young dog. Wylie has been introduced to a neutral female dog and does great with her — both dogs are polite, relaxed, and respectful of each other’s space. He is currently working through slow, structured introductions with other foster dogs. These introductions are done gradually with obedience incorporated into every interaction, and Wylie has been very receptive and eager to learn. Dog social skills: • Outdoors, through fencing, Wylie is friendly and playful. He often invites interaction with play bows and happy vocalizations. • Indoors, in neutral spaces, he remains calm, relaxed, and appropriately social, even when dogs are able to sniff through fencing. • He responds very well to high-value rewards and positive reinforcement during these interactions. In areas he considers more “his space” — such as his kennel area or the office — Wylie can show some context-based reactivity. This does not appear to be aggression. Instead, it’s consistent with territorial or barrier-related behavior that is likely learned over time rather than emotionally driven. This type of behavior is common and manageable with structure. His foster mom who is a dog trainer has already begun addressing this with clear boundaries, structured obedience, and consistent commands like “leave it” and “quiet,” paired with fair corrections and strong positive reinforcement. Wylie responds quickly and learns fast. Because of this, adopters should be aware that similar behaviors could surface during the typical three-month decompression period after adoption. With consistency, routine, and clear leadership, this behavior has proven very manageable. Overall: Wylie is a smart, responsive, and promising young dog who thrives with structure and clear communication. He continues to make great progress and would do best in a home committed to routine, training, and helping him continue building confidence. I am crate trained, house trained, micro-chipped, neutered and up to date on my vaccines. Wylie's adoption fee is $350.00. I'm Odin, and like my Norse namesake, I'm rather wise and magical! Just look at this face. I'm a 12 week old, 13 lb, shepherd mix with one eye (no current medical issues).
I love snuggling, being snuggled, and meeting new friends to snuggle. My hobbies include learning life skills like potty training and sitting on command, sampling all the treats, and puppy parkour. Dog and cat roommates are a plus, but not necessary. I would love a fenced yard so I can have fun & play safely. If you're interested in opening your heart and home to me, please fill out an adoption application today! I am vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. My adoption fee is $350.00. Please email us at [email protected] if you have questions about him or to apply to adopt click HERE. Meet Cruz, a 10 year old 30 pound beagle. Cruz was in a high kill shelter in Texas, and that is no place for a senior, so Project Hope pulled him and got him to Michigan so he could find his fur ever home! Cruz does have a heart murmur that is managed with medicine. He has a lot of pep to his step and gets the zoomies sometimes. Cruz gets along with other dogs and cats and would be good with children that are respectful to him. He loves to go with you for car rides. A fenced in yard is required as he likes to follow his nose to explore all the smells. He is housebroken, micro-chipped, up to date on vaccines, neutered, and his adoption fee $275.00.
Cruz would make a great companion for someone. If you want to know anything more about him that is not in this bio, email us at [email protected] or to fill out an adoption application click HERE. Meet Leo! This 10-month old, 51-pound retriever-mix puppy has one of the biggest hearts and a huge capacity to snuggle. Leo is extremely affectionate, quiet, playful, curious, intelligent, and kind hearted. He loves every person and dog he meets and would happily play for most of the day and then curl up and cuddle you as close as he can possibly get. His foster siblings adore him, and his foster parents are amazed every day how quickly he picks up new things. Leo is a brave and confident pup, which allows him to be very adaptable.
Since Leo is still a puppy new to homes, he is working very hard at becoming fully potty trained and crate trained. His foster family is amazed at his progress so far and believes he will accomplish his goals easily and quickly! Leo already knows sit, wait, kennel up (to get in his crate), and he would love a family who will continue to work on his commands and tricks since he is very smart and will do just about anything for a treat. Because Leo is a very athletic guy, he can climb a chain link fence, but he really just wants to be around his people and siblings. This bubbly boy would do best in a home with a fenced yard where he can run around or with a family who is home often to give him plenty of exercise. He would love another furry sibling to romp and play with. His adoption fee is $350. If you have questions not covered in this bio, please email us at [email protected]. Jimin is an 8-month-old mystery mix with some strong Basenji vibes. When he first arrived, the rescue thought he might be a Whippet mix, and then maybe a Black Mouth Cur/Rhodesian Ridgeback. But his huge ears that never relaxed (they still stick straight up), his unique rolling vocalizations, and his limited shedding have his foster mom convinced that he’s a Basenji mix — and his elegant build and curious nature definitely fit the bill! At about 32 lbs, Jimin is a slender, medium-sized pup with long legs and a zest for life. When he’s excited, he wags not just his tail but his whole body in a joyful wiggle. He loves to take a running leap off the back porch and zoom around the yard at top speed — he’s athletic, bendy, and loves to show it off! Jimin is a young, curious, and very active dog, so he’ll thrive in a home that can give him plenty of exercise, playtime, and continued training. He’s also a fantastic fetch companion — it’s one of his favorite ways to burn off energy and bond with his humans. He’s nearly potty trained and already knows the commands to sit, lay down, and “inside.” Smart boy! Jimin currently lives with both dogs and cats. He adores his dog foster siblings (male and female, middle-aged) and takes a lot of cues on how to dog from them, which helps build his confidence, as he can be a little timid with new people and in new experiences. He does sometimes want to chase and bark at his cat siblings — they’re not big fans of this, so a home with dog-savvy cats (or no cats) might be best. Like many pups his age, Jimin is still learning what’s his and what isn’t. He’s an opportunistic counter surfer and a fan of chewing things that get left within reach — so clutter doesn’t stand a chance on his watch! He also loves to do a bit of doggy parkour — bouncing off furniture and finding creative ways to navigate the world. It’s absolutely adorable for the right person, but could be a bit much for someone who prefers a more low-key pup. Jimin is affectionate and loves to curl up on top of his humans for belly rubs, ear scratches, and kisses. Because he’s still a bit excitable, he may be too bouncy for very small children, but he’d make a fantastic companion for older kids, teens, or adults who enjoy an active lifestyle. Jimin would love a forever family who: - Has time and energy to keep up with a young, lively dog ??? - Will continue his training and help him blossom ? - Can give him plenty of love, play, and snuggles ?? - Is ready to make daily fetch sessions part of their routine ? - Doesn’t mind keeping counters clear and valuables out of reach ? - Appreciates his athleticism and need for activity! ? If Jimin sounds like the perfect match for you, fill out an adoption application today and let this sweet, wiggly boy steal your heart! His adoption fee is $350.00. At around 5 years old, Everest is a purebred Great Pyrenees with a heart as grand as his name. He’s looking for a forever home where he can be the center of your world—because true to his noble roots, Everest prefers to be the only pet in the home. And trust us—he’s more than enough. This friendly giant LOVES people. Whether he’s wrestling with you on the lawn, snuggling on the couch, or supervising your chores with a wagging tail and a goofy grin, Everest is always ready to lend a paw and soak up attention. He’s got personality for days and a loyal heart that just wants to please. Fully trained in both indoor and outdoor obedience, Everest is already a rockstar when it comes to manners. Hi there! I’m Skymir — a lively, 1.5-year-old male black Lab mix with a heart full of love and a tail that never quits. I weigh about 40 pounds and carry a perfect mix of sweetness, smarts, and silliness. My story began in a southern shelter, where I ended up all alone as a puppy. It was a scary time, but a kind-hearted rescuer saw something special in me and gave me a second chance. Now I'm thriving in Michigan (near Coldwater!) and looking for my forever family to share all of life’s adventures. Here’s what you’ll love about me: * I’m playful, affectionate, and full of wiggles—especially when I see my foster siblings! * Give me a good, hard bone and I’m in heaven. *Squirrel-chasing? Yes, please! * I’m a smart cookie who learns fast, especially when treats are involved. * I love cozy mornings in my crate and sunbathing on warm afternoons. While I can be a little shy at first, I warm up quickly with a gentle touch and kind words. I’m working on my manners (sometimes I get too excited and jump up), but with a little patience and consistency, I’m learning every day. My dream home? "A fenced-in yard" would be perfect for all my zoomies and sniffari adventures! I’d do great with another playful pup or an active family who wants a loyal companion. I'm happiest when I'm with my people or four-legged friends—I'm not a fan of being alone for too long. If you're looking for a sweet, energetic buddy who will love you endlessly and make every day brighter, I might just be your guy. If you would like to apply for Skymir, click HERE. Meet Analia! Aubrey thrives with other dogs and finds a lot of confidence in their presence, making her a great fit for a home with furry friends. Despite her shyness at first, Aubrey is fully trained in obedience, both on and off leash, indoors and outdoors. She’s a well-behaved girl who’s eager to please once she feels comfortable. I’m a big boy – about 75 pounds – and am a bit of a mix as far as my relatives go. We think I’m between 2 and 3 years old. I love long walks, playing fetch (ball, stick or frisbee, I’m not particular) and, of course, TREATS! I’m neutered, microchipped and up-to-date with all my vaccinations. I’m also crate trained and sleep in there very peacefully.
My foster parents are teaching me good leash skills and are also perfecting my housetraining and my understanding of commands. They say I’m sweet, super-smart and am especially gifted at snuggling. My most favorite place to be is in your lap! I’m up for a good belly scratch any time and most days are not complete without a short zoomie session before bed. A fenced in yard or a multi-acre plot would be my ideal home situation because I’m still a young boy with lots of energy to spare. I absolutely love to run around and chase birds! I’m actually fascinated by all types of wildlife, including squirrels and deer, and can often be found staring out my foster parents’ back window keeping notes on all the duck, swan and goose traffic on their pond. I get along well with humans but am still getting used to my own size so I would do best in a home with children over the age of 10. I definitely like other dogs and am always up for a playdate but am still a little unsure about cats. Lance's adoption fee is $300.00. If you have questions not covered in this bio, please email us at [email protected]. To apply to adopt, click HERE. One year old Jacob found himself in a Texas shelter with a toe injury. He has recovered well and made his way up to Michigan in search of his forever home. He is all ears and all cute! Jacob gets along great with other dogs and loves to play. He is crate and house trained and an all around smart boy, typical of his breed. He is a little shy at first, but comes right out of his shell after a bit. Because of his shyness, a physical fenced yard that is higher than 4 feet high is required. Jacob is 40 lbs (and growing), neutered, up to date in shots and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300.00. Please email us at [email protected] if you have questions about him. Ready to apply for him, click HERE.
Hi friends, I'm Blake, a big hunk of puppy love with an even bigger heart! At 1 year old and 52 lbs, I'm still growing into my paws and discovering the joys of the world. I’m most likely a Spaniel/Pointer mix and I think I’m going to be a bigger boy. I'm super friendly and submissive to other dog pals, and I dream of finding a forever home with a furry companion to share my adventures with. I love giving my canine friends kisses and doing laps together around the yard. My forever home will definitely need a fully FENCED-IN yard and a doggie best friend for me.
I’m being fostered near Coldwater, Michigan. Life has been a whirlwind of new experiences since I arrived here, and I'm still getting used to being inside a home. But hey, I've already nailed crate and house training, so I'm a quick learner! While I'm still figuring out this whole leash thing, I'm making progress one paw at a time. With a bit of patience and a lot of love, I know I'll get there. I haven’t had any exposure to cats yet, and I think I’d do well with children over 6 years old. I’m fully-vetted and my adoption fee is $300.00. Are you the family I've been waiting for? If you have questions about me, please email [email protected]. Ready to bring me home? To fill out the adoption application, click HERE. Let's embark on this journey together and make memories that will last a lifetime! |
interested in adopting? The first step is for you to fill out an adoption application. In order to meet and greet available dogs, we must receive a completed application. Approval for adoption requires a successful home visit and veterinary reference. Applying to adopt and meeting a potential dog does not obligate you to adopt the dog you meet and greet. If it is not a match for you or them, adoption will not take place. CategoriesArchives |
