Shenzi is a 39 pound, one and half year old Border Collie mix. Shenzi is very smart and knows some basic commands such as sit, stay, come and high five! She has very pretty coloring and her coat is very soft! Shenzi loves everyone and gets along with other dogs, especially those that love to play. We aren't sure how she is with cats. She would be good with kids that aren't too young because she is so active. Shenzi will need a home with an active family and another active dog. Her favorite pastimes are to play with get toys after running around with other dogs outside ! She likes to counter surf, so she will need to work on that, but she is very food motivated and easy to train. A home with a physical fenced in yard is required with Shenzi's adoption. She is crate & house trained, micro-chipped, spayed and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $300.00. Edith is a 8 year old 9 pound poodle mix. Edith has a low grade heart murmur but doesn't need meds for it right now. She also has a old injury to her back leg so she doesn't use it, but it doesn't seem to bother her. Edith is a very calm dog; she is good with other dogs but she doesn't play with them so she is best suited to a home with dogs that are calm like her. If kids are in the home, they should be older. Edith loves to cuddle and will snuggle with you and sit on your lap. She is crate trained and will whine if she has to go outside. She prefers to be carried outside and then back in after she does her business. She is spayed, micro-chipped and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $300.00. If you have any questions about Edith not answered in this bio email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com or to fill out an app to apply for adoption go HERE.
Cheeto is a sweet 11-month-old super fun black lab/pitbull puppy! He weighs about 55 pounds. Cheeto was found as a tiny baby (only a few weeks old) on the side of the road in Alabama inside of a Cheeto’s bag (hence the name, like, what else could it be?). Cheeto loves to play outside and chase the ball, and he will play with toys inside the house all by himself. It is so cute! His favorite thing to do in the evening is snuggle (when he’s not playing with a toy) and will just plop on you and snuggle down and sigh. He would love to sleep in bed with you, if given the opportunity. Cheeto would do best in an only-dog household. He is not interested in cats. He loves his food and treats. He is up to date on his vaccinations, housebroken, neutered and crate trained. His adoption fee is $350.00. If you have any questions about Cheeto not answered in this bio email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com or to fill out an app to apply for adoption go HERE.
Sprite is a 12-pound, 13-year-old Shih Tzu. We came upon Sprite when her owner couldn't care for her anymore. When we first got her, one of her eyes had ruptured, so it had to be removed. Though she only has one eye, she gets around great! She will need drops for her remaining eye for the rest of her life. Sprite is very sweet and likes to be with you. She walks great on a leash! A fenced yard is preferred but not required; however, she must be kept on a leash for her safety if not in a fenced yard. She gets along great with other dogs. We aren't sure how she is with cats, but with proper introductions, she should be fine. If children are in the home or visit, they need to be older since Sprite is a senior. Sprite would love a quiet place to sleep and be loved on for the rest of her life. She is housebroken, spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200.00. If you have any questions about Sprite not answered in this bio email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com or to fill out an app to apply for adoption go HERE.
Hello, I’d like to tell you a little about myself. I came to Michigan with the name Barbosa, but my foster mom thought I looked more like a Chester, so I am called Chester Barbosa, and when I hear that, I know I better pay attention. I came into an Alabama shelter after being attacked by a larger dog. My eye was so badly injured that it had to be removed, but it doesn't bother me a bit!
I am less than a year old and I love to play. I get to run around a big back yard right now, I’d love to be able to keep doing that. If I had a little person to run around with, I’d be super happy. I did get to play with my foster mom’s 5-year-old grandson, and my foster preteen step cousins, we got along great. I met my foster nephew, he was a big shepherd and another day I met my foster cousin, he was a little terrier mix. I got along great with both of them and ran around the yard playing. My foster mom has two cats, they don’t really like me, but I wanted to get to know them better. If you have a cat who has spent time with another dog, maybe they will like me too. I can play fetch, I like to play tug of war, I sit and take a treat very nicely. I give great kisses. I love it when you call me a good boy and rub my sides. I will always be there for you, snuggled up on the couch or laying by your feet. I fit nicely on your lap while sitting at your desk if you are one of those lucky people who work from home. Or if you don’t want me on your lap, I can lay on a pillow or blanket beside you. As long as I can see you or hear you, I’m happy. I sleep in a crate right now; I have soft blankets and toys to play with. But I’d be more than willing to keep you company in a nice warm bed. I am still learning how to let my foster mom know when I need to go outside, just trying to figure out the communication part. I haven’t had an accident in my crate at night in three weeks. I walk very well on a leash and love to look around. I have gone on quite a few car rides, at first, I didn’t want to get in, but then I realized I was coming back to a place where I was loved. My foster mom let me have free reign of the house while she was away, with the exception of her room; where the cats stay, and I didn’t do anything wrong. I waited patiently for her to come home. Remember, I’m one family member you get to choose, and if you choose me; I will offer you unconditional love and hope you can offer me the same. If you rescue me, I’ll rescue you. Barbosa's adoption fee is $350.00. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. If you have any questions about Barbosa not answered in this bio email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com or to fill out an app to apply for adoption go HERE. Raven is a gorgeous, sweet, 11-month-old black lab, and weighs about 55 pounds. She loves other dogs, cats, and kids. Raven would do best in a single dog home because, due to a lack of socialization as a young puppy, she can play too rough and does not read other dogs’ signals well, and then her play can get out of hand. She will do anything for food, which makes her very easily trainable. Her favorite evening pastime is sleeping on your lap while you watch TV. Total snuggle bug! She absolutely loves to have her head stroked, so she is very easy to make friends with.
Raven is up to date on her vaccinations, is spayed, and is microchipped. She does well in a crate at night, but her favorite place to sleep would be next to your bed (or IN your bed). Her adoption fee is $350.00. If you have any questions about Raven not answered in this bio email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com or to fill out an app to apply for adoption go HERE. Annie is a 2-year-old terrier mix weighing about 15 lbs. She is sweet, curious and playful. She loves other dogs, cats, and kids. She is a special needs girl - she has deformed front legs. Her right rear leg is also deformed, but it does not stop her from getting around!
She is shy at first, but after a while she warms right up. She loves to play and will tell you so. She is mostly housebroken (we are still learning her tells) and will potty outside if she is brought out. She is a bit of a power chewer, so good strong chew toys are a must! Right now, we pick her up to take her outside because we have a pea gravel area that blocks the backyard. Once she gets past the pea gravel, she runs around in the soft grass, sniffing, munching, pawing and playing. She chases the other dogs in the yard, and the more time she spends with them the more we see her try to use all of her legs. She has recently started sitting like a kangaroo to try to climb up in my lap, imitating the other dogs in our house. She has a strong and resilient spirit and would make a great addition to any loving home. Annie is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. She is heartworm negative and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300.00. If you have any questions about Annie not answered in this bio email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com or to fill out an app to apply for adoption go HERE. Bucket is very social and outgoing with people, gentle, but sometimes timid in a new environment or around new dogs; no cats, please. Bucket will need a fenced in yard because he loves to run and explore!

Sebring is a 39 pound, 1 and a half year old old lab mix. Sebring was in the medical ward of a Texas shelter with an injured leg and eventually had to have FHO surgery, she is healed up and is now ready for her forever home!
Sebring is very sweet but shy so she needs time to get to know you then she loves to be with you and loves to be loved on. Sebring gets along with other dogs and loves to play , unknown about cats, since she is shy older kids would be the best, Sebring can climb a 5ft fence so a privacy fence or a invisible fence is required for this adoption, she loves to play with toys and to run around outside and play with other dogs, she also likes to lay outside in the fresh air! Sebring will need someone willing to give her time to get to know them and after she gets to know you she is very loving and listens very well! interested in adopting? The first step is for you to fill out an adoption application. In order to meet and greet available dogs, we must receive a completed application. Approval for adoption requires a successful home visit and veterinary reference. Applying to adopt and meeting a potential dog does not obligate you to adopt the dog you meet and greet. If it is not a match for you or them, adoption will not take place. CategoriesArchives |
