Cheeto is a sweet 11-month-old super fun black lab mix puppy! He weighs about 55 pounds. Cheeto was found as a tiny baby (only a few weeks old) on the side of the road in Alabama inside of a Cheeto’s bag (hence the name, like, what else could it be?). Cheeto loves to play outside and chase the ball, and he will play with toys inside the house all by himself. It is so cute! His favorite thing to do in the evening is snuggle (when he’s not playing with a toy) and will just plop on you and snuggle down and sigh. He would love to sleep in bed with you, if given the opportunity. Only homes with kids 12 years and over please. Cheeto would do best in an only-dog household. He is not interested in cats. He loves his food and treats. A physical fenced yard is required with his adoption. He is up to date on his vaccinations, housebroken, neutered and crate trained. His adoption fee is $350.00. If you have questions about Cheeto not covered in this bio, please email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com. To apply to adopt, click HERE.

Skymir came into a Texas shelter with a badly injured ear. We aren't sure how it happened, but it's all healed up now. He is a 6 month old, 20 lb lab mix pup, maybe a little hound in there? He is small, so he may not get as big as labs usually do. He loves to wiggle his butt and play with his foster siblings, but his favorite pastime is chewing on a good hard bone. He is very food motivated, so it's easy to get him focused for training. Until he learns to stop jumping, older kids are probably best. Skymir is a little shy when you first meet him, but comes around pretty quickly. He likes to cuddle up on cold days in his crate and lay in the sun on warmer days. Because he is a puppy, he would do best in a home with another dog or an active family. He is neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. A physical fenced yard is required with his adoption. His adoption fee is $350.00. If you have questions about Skymir not covered in this bio, please email projecthoperescue@gmail.com. Sugar is a 9 year old 15 pound Maltese mix. Sugar is from Texas and she had a mom but her mom passed away so Sugar was surrendered to the kill shelter, but now she is ready to find her furever home! She had dry eyes that was not treated so she lost most of her vision. She can see some light, she can hear very good and if you call her she will come to you! . Sugar does need eye drops 2 times a day and also you can use lubricating eye drops to help.
Sugar would love to find a home with someone that can spend time with her as she likes to sit in your lap and will give kisses, she gets along with other dogs and will even want to play with them but most of the time she doesn't like to be bothered by them so she would prefer to be the only dog. Don't know about cats as she hasn't been around any. Since she is older and limited vision, children should be 10 and over. She can go up steps and likes to go for walks. A fenced in yard is preferred. She rides good in a car and likes going with you! Sugar is house & crate trained, micro-chipped and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $300.00, if you have any questions not answered in this bio email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com or to apply to adopt, click HERE. Although we're not sure on Walters past we know he has a great future. Walter found himself in a Texas shelter in pretty rough shape but he just needed some love to bring out this handsome fella. After arriving north and a trip to the vet we discovered Walter is diabetic. He currently receives insulin shots twice a day and gets special food to control his diabetes. He is estimated to be around 10 years old. Walter is fixed, utd on shots, and currently on flea, tick, and worms preventative. Walter would prefer to be with a super chill fur sibling. It is not recommended that he goes to a home with small children as he is still learning to trust humans again. He likes to be pet and purrs loudly but sudden movements scare him. His adoption fee is $75.00. If you have questions not answered in this bio, email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com. If you think Walter would be the perfect addition to your life, click HERE.
At only 4 months old and 10 lbs, Destiny is a survivor. She came into a high kill shelter as a stray with an anal prolapse. We had to do emergency surgery on her and she almost didn't make it through. Thankfully, she is now recovered, doing well and looking for her forever home. She is tiny little thing, so she may not be large when full grown. She loves to be picked up and held. Destiny gets along great with other dogs and running around the yard, and chewing on hard bones are her favorite things to do (besides sitting in your lap). She is crate trained and sleeps quietly at night. She is spayed, up to date on shots for her age and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $350.00. If you have questions about Destiny not covered in this bio, please email projecthoperescue@gmail.com. To apply to adopt, click HERE.
April is a 5 month old 12 pound Terrier mix. April was found as a stray in Alabama where she was treated for rickets. Treatment included good food, vitamins and they splints on her legs to straighten them. They are still a little deformed but it doesn't slow her down or bother her! April didn't have a very good start in her life but holds no grudges. She will definitely steal your heart. She is a little bashful at first but she is so loving and will follow you around the yard. April gets along great with other dogs. She hasn't been around cats that we know of, but since she is a puppy, she would probably be ok with them. She would be good with children that are respectful to her. April likes to play with toys and with other dogs. A home with a physical fenced yard is highly preferred. She is crate trained and is dong well with potty training. April is spayed, micro-chipped and up to date on her vaccines. Her adoption fee is $350.00. If you have any questions about April not answered in this bio, please email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com. To apply to adopt, click HERE. Liberty is a 3 year old, 19 pound terrier mix. Liberty was found on the side of the road in Texas and couldn't use her back legs. She has had surgery on both rear legs legs to see if that would improve her mobility. Unfortunately, neither surgery proved successful, so it was decided to amputate her left leg in hopes that it would cause her to use her right leg more. Currently, she will use her back right leg at times but when she gets excited and runs she will drag it. She is on a good joint supplement in hopes it will help her build strength in her leg. Liberty gets along with other dogs but we aren't sure how she is around cats. She would be okay with children that are respectful to her. A home with a physical fenced yard would be ideal for her. Liberty can go up steps to sit on the couch as she likes to sit with her person! She is house & crate trained, micro-chipped, spayed and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $300.00. If you have questions about Liberty not covered in this bio, please email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com. To apply to adopt, click HERE.
Meet Davy Jones! He is about one year old and about 50 lbs. He lost his leg because it was broken so badly it just kind of flopped around. He gets along great on the three he still has, but he is still working on his balance when he jumps off the sofa onto the wood floor. He can still chase the squirrel up the tree, and the birds away from the feeder. He runs around in the yard with the other two small dogs being fostered with him. He would do well if there is another dog to play with. He hasn’t met the cats yet, but he did meet a few at the shelter he lived at for a while.
Davy does great on a leash; he doesn’t pull or try to run. He did decide to stop and rest in the grass a couple times. He didn’t like getting in his kennel at first, but now he knows it’s not permanent, only when it’s going to be a few hours or bedtime. Most of the time he gets to lay on the bed in his room or on the sofa during the day. Davy does have a little bit of resource guarding with the small dachshund in the house, but he doesn't show any aggression while eating. He does great with kids. He is very smart and would do well with some extra training. He knows the basic come and sit commands. He’ll let you know when he needs to go out and when he’s hungry. He loves to spend time outside watching the birds and listening to the animals. He does like to bark when someone walks by or he hears a sound that doesn’t seem normal. Davy acts like a guardian to the other dogs, if they whine or cry, he runs over to make sure they are okay. Davy would be a fantastic member of your family. He is a lover and just wants to be near you. Davy is neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300.00. If you have questions about Davy not covered in this bio, please email projecthoperescue@gmail.com. To apply to adopt, click HERE. Meet Brownie, a 1.5 year old, 40 lb whippet mix as calm, gentle, and sweet as they come! Brownie is the easiest pup - she is 1000% house trained, quiet, and perfectly gentle with other dogs and children. She is a total lover and follows her people around the house like the sweetest shadow. If you’ll let her on the couch, she’s there with her head in your lap. Gardening? Brownie will supervise. Working at home? Brownie will keep your feet warm. She’ll hop in the car, go to her crate, and even knows “sit.” Brownie is the ultimate companion pup.
You’d never guess this happy and healthy 1.5 year old beauty almost didn’t make it out of a southern shelter alive due to overcrowding. Brownie is spayed, up to date on shots and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300.00. If you have questions about Brownie not covered in this bio, please email projecthoperescue@gmail.com. To apply to adopt, click HERE. Meet Pepper! Pepper is a beautiful, very uniquely colored black lab/German shepherd mix with a black coat and gorgeous ash-colored undertones. She is a little over a year old and weighs about 60 pounds. Pepper’s goal in life, besides food, is to be LOVED by someone. She was rescued from an abusive situation, and you can tell by her lack of confidence that she had been hurt badly in the past. She craves attention and will shower you with kisses and look at you adoringly. Pepper gets along great with other dogs, is crate trained, and is housebroken. She is also spayed and up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped. Because of her past abuse, she will sometimes do submission pee, especially if she thinks you are angry with her (residual effects of abuse which should diminish as she gains her confidence). Pepper has a lot of energy that she would love to be able to burn off in a fenced-in yard, and when she is inside, she will lay at your feet and relax. She is really a fun, sweet girl and will make an awesome companion. Pepper's adoption fee is $300.00. If you have questions about Pepper not covered in this bio, please email projecthoperescue@gmail.com. To apply, click HERE.
Kevin is an adorable, 45 pound Great Dane mix puppy born around December 1st, 2022. His mom was on site when he was rescued and is a Great Dane. It is unknown what Kevin's dad is. Kevin is expected to be large and is growing more and more each week.
Kevin is currently in a foster home with kids and other dogs. He loves to play with the other dogs and enjoys all kinds of dog toys. Kevin walks well on a leash and loves to ride in the car. He is an excellent car rider. Kevin is also crate trained and stays in his crate every day while his foster family is at work. He does enjoy some play time when they get home. Kevin is doing well on his house manners but still makes typical puppy mistakes. He sometimes may grab a shoe or try to get food off the table. Kevin will need a family that will continue to train him. He is treat motivated and willing to learn! Kevin is slow to accept new dogs as friends. He is fearful and defensive until he knows they are safe and will not hurt him. Kevin will require a family who takes dog to dog introductions slow and allows him to feel comfortable. He is currently fostered with two female dogs that he adores. Once they are his friends, it is playtime! If Kevin's new home has dogs, it will take some time to do the introductions, but he would love a dog friend in the home, especially a female. Kevin was around cats where he was rescued. He does not have a cat friend in his foster home, but he should be good with cats. Kevin's new home will require a fenced-in yard. He would love a family that snuggles a lot! Kevin is neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. His adoption fee is $350.00. If you have questions about Kevin not covered in this bio, please email projecthoperescue@gmail.com. Never fear though...she walks and runs just as well as a four legged dog! She gets along great with other dogs and cats and is very submissive to them. She does well with kids, but likes to jump a little when she gets excited, so older kids are recommended. She listens well when called, but a home with a fenced yard is highly preferred. Because she is a younger active dog, a home with another dog or active family would be perfect for her. She is crate and house trained, but would do fine outside of the crate. As a tripod, she would do well on shorter walks only due to the stress on her front leg. She will require regular grooming to keep her hair tangle free. Trinity is spayed, up to date on shots and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $350.00. If you have questions about Trinity not covered in this bio, please email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com. Priscilla is a 16 pound 3 month old Lab/Great Pyr mix. Priscilla was surrendered with her brother to a Texas kill shelter because their owner didn't want to take care of them anymore. When they were dumped, they were skinny and had three different kind of worms. Priscilla gets along with other dogs, we aren't sure about cats, but as a puppy, she can be trained. She would be good with children that are respectful to her. Priscilla is all puppy who loves to play with toys and other dogs. Her ideal family would have another dog in the home or someone who is very active. She is doing great with potty training and is crate trained. A physical fenced yard is required with this adoption. She is spayed, micro-chipped and up to date on vaccines for her age. Her adoption fee is $350.00. Hello, my name is Mosley. I’m a Pomeranian/Chow mix. I only weigh about 23 lbs, most of my fluffiness is fur. I’ve spent a little bit of time with my foster mom in Monroe, MI, but I’m ready to find a forever family.
I am around 3 years old, so a teenager in dog years. I am very shy and not aggressive. My life before the shelter and Project Hope fosters took me in wasn’t the best for me. My humans didn’t give me attention the way I hope my new family will. Just be patient with me. I am a good boy, and I like to be petted and getting a treat when I come in from outside. I will let you know when I have to go outside, and when I’m ready to come in I jump on the door. Right now, I get put on a tie out, or sometimes my foster mom puts a leash on me and lets me run in the yard. You see, I’m considered a flight risk right now, so I need to be tethered to something until I feel super comfortable with you. I do like to go for walks. I get along with other dogs, and my foster mom’s cats don’t even seem to notice me. I want to be part of the action, but I’m very scared. I like to feel safe in my crate, but now I like to lay on the bed in my room or I even lay on the sofa with my foster mom so she can give me love. I like it when she pets me. I like to listen to all the nice words she says to me. With the right person, Mosley would be a little snuggle bug. He needs some one-on-one attention and as much love as a person can give. He needs someone with patience to help him out of his shell. He will need a few days to get comfortable with a new person around. Remember, I’m one family member you get to choose, and if you choose me; I will offer you unconditional love and hope you can offer me the same. If you rescue me, I’ll rescue you. Mosley's adoption fee is $300.00. To apply, click HERE. Hershee is a beautiful chocolate lab mix who spent her short life in a cage, which led to deformities in her two front feet. Lots of exercise to strengthen those muscles may help. Despite her past, she is as sweet as you can imagine. Although she is a puppy, doesn't have that craziness. She is very loving and learning about boundaries. She does great with kids, dogs and cats. A fenced in yard is definitely preferred in her new home. She is around a year and a half old and 40 lbs. She is spayed, up to date on shots and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300.00. If you have questions about Hershee not covered in this bio, please email projecthoperescue@gmail.com. Sebring is a 35 pound, 1 year old old lab mix. Sebring was in the medical ward of a Texas shelter with an injured leg and eventually had to have FHO surgery. She is healed up and is now ready for her forever home!
Sebring is very sweet but shy so she needs time to get to know you. Once she knows you won't hurt her, she loves to be with you and loves to be loved on. Sebring gets along with other dogs and loves to play. We aren't sure how she is with cats since she hasn't been around them. Because she is shy, older kids would be best. A home with a privacy fence or invisible fence is required with her adoption. Sebring loves to play with toys and enjoys a good romp around outside with other dogs. She also likes to lay outside in the fresh air! Sebring will need someone willing to give her time to get to know them and after she gets to know you she is very loving and listens very well. Sebring is crate and house trained, micro-chipped and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $300.00. If you have any questions not answered in this bio email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com or to fill out a app to apply to adopt, click HERE. Hi, my name is Lance! I’m a big boy – about 75 pounds – and am a bit of a mix as far as my relatives go. We think I’m between 2 and 3 years old. I love long walks, playing fetch (ball, stick or frisbee, I’m not particular) and, of course, TREATS! I’m neutered, microchipped and up-to-date with all my vaccinations. I’m also crate trained and sleep in there very peacefully.
My foster parents are teaching me good leash skills and are also perfecting my housetraining and my understanding of commands. They say I’m sweet, super-smart and am especially gifted at snuggling. My most favorite place to be is in your lap! I’m up for a good belly scratch any time and most days are not complete without a short zoomie session before bed. A fenced in yard or a multi-acre plot would be my ideal home situation because I’m still a young boy with lots of energy to spare. I absolutely love to run around and chase birds! I’m actually fascinated by all types of wildlife, including squirrels and deer, and can often be found staring out my foster parents’ back window keeping notes on all the duck, swan and goose traffic on their pond. I get along well with humans but am still getting used to my own size so I would do best in a home with children over the age of 10. I definitely like other dogs and am always up for a playdate but am still a little unsure about cats. Lance's adoption fee is $300.00. If you have questions not covered in this bio, please email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com. To apply to adopt, click HERE. Approximately 55 pounds, this sweet, active & playful girl is looking for her forever family! Tralee loves her tennis ball and playing outside with her three foster siblings (dogs). Tralee also loves her walks and continues to improve on her leash manners. Tralee would be a great companion for an active person/family that would like to include her in their adventures. Having a furry play friend would be an extra bonus! She is food motivated which is helpful when teaching her all of the awesome things you would like her to know. She is house broken, crate trained, microchipped, spayed and up-to-date on shots. Her adoption fee is $300.00. If you are interested in meeting this sweet girl, please contact Project Hope Animal Rescue at projecthoperescue@gmail.com or to apply to adopt, click HERE.
Aubrey is an energetic 27 pound, 6 month old Plott hound mix who is beautiful! Aubrey loves everyone and is so excited when she meets new people. She gets along great with dogs of all sizes. She would probably be ok with cats with proper intros. She would do best in a home with kids over 10 because she likes to jump. Aubrey likes to run and play so a physical fenced yard is required with this adoption. She will need a home with an active dog or an active family. After a good romp, she loves to snuggle with her person. She is working on her house manners her potty training. She is crate trained, micro-chipped, spayed and up to date on her vaccines. Her adoption fee is $350.00. If you have any questions about Aubrey not covered in this bio email us at projecthoperecue@gmail.com. To apply to adopt, click HERE.

interested in adopting? The first step is for you to fill out an adoption application. In order to meet and greet available dogs, we must receive a completed application. Approval for adoption requires a successful home visit and veterinary reference. Applying to adopt and meeting a potential dog does not obligate you to adopt the dog you meet and greet. If it is not a match for you or them, adoption will not take place. CategoriesArchives |
